ABOUT EPE
The French Association Entreprises pour l’Environnement (EPE) brings together some sixty major French and international large companies from all industries in order to collaborate on their transformation linked to the challenges of an integrated ecological transition.
Its purpose – one single planet and a thriving world – sums up the resolve of its members to lead their own ecological transition and that of society, together and with their stakeholders, in order to build an economic development that is compatible with the planetary boundaries, socially accepted and even desired.
The association is fully funded by its members and is represented at the Economic, Social and Environmental Council.

CESE representation
As the third French constitutional assembly, after the National Assembly and the Senate, the CESE is responsible for advising the Government and Parliament on legislation drafting and public policies in the economic, social and environmental fields. It comprises 175 members representing professional and voluntary organisations, divided into 19 groups. EPE is represented by its Managing Director, Cécile Denormandie, as part of nature and environmental protection associations.

WBCSD Partner
EPE is the French partner of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), a global network of 250+ leading companies driving sustainability as a key driver of competitiveness.
HOW WE OPERATE
EPE fosters exchange between member companies, experts, and stakeholders, with the aim of integrating the ecological transition into strategies and operations. EPE’s main activity is based on working groups focused on themes key for companies’ internal transformation.
These peer-to-peer exchanges enable member companies’ teams to develop their expertise on ecological transition issues in order to:
- understand and anticipate environmental challenges
- identify accelerators, constraints and interdependencies
- enable companies’ practices to evolve
- prpromote and support the evolution of the corporate strategy
